A photo book that many people fill and one person orders.
Most photo book makers assume one person has all the photos. In a family, nobody does. Paper Chain is built the other way round: one link, many contributors, one book.
What contributors do
They open the link on their phone, type their name, choose photos and write a caption or a note if they want. There's no account and nothing to install. It takes about five minutes.
What the organiser does
- Starts the book and says who it's for.
- Shares the link, or adds emails so each person gets their own.
- Sets a due date. Reminders go out until each person has added something.
- Reorders people and photos, leaves out any that don't fit, picks a cover.
- Orders it. The exact price is shown first.
The layout takes care of itself
Each person's photos sit together, with their note first. Captions go beside or under their photo in large type. You don't drag boxes around a page; you choose a theme and it's laid out for print.
Good for
Grandparents' birthdays, Mother's Day, a retirement, a wedding anniversary, a memorial, a teacher's leaving present. Anything where the photos are on many phones.
